The Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) is a national organization which was established to support bookmobile and outreach service librarians and to encourage library administrators, trustees and government officials to support the provision of quality service to meet diverse community needs.  

The Association's goals are:

           * to provide a forum for discussion of activities, programs, challenges and successes in the field of bookmobile and outreach services in libraries

           *to contribute to the education and training of library staff working in the area of bookmobile and outreach services in libraries

            *to promote bookmobile and outreach services as essential library services 

ABOS was established in 2006 and it became an affiliate organization of the American Library Association in 2009.  ABOS has held an annual conference since 2007.
