The Putnam County Public Library, 103 E. Poplar Street, Greencastle, IN, will host author Greg Schwipps for its author series, A Conversation with the Author. Schwipps’ novel, What This River Keeps, is set in the rolling hills of southern Indiana. The story of an elderly couple who cope with the fear that their river-bottom farm—the only home they’ve ever known— will be taken from them through an act of eminent domain. The river flowing through their land, the current the old man has fished nearly every day of his life, may be dammed to form a reservoir. Schwipps is the 2010 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award Winner for Emerging Author for What This River Keeps. His creative nonfiction articles and essays have appeared in outdoor magazines such as Outdoor Indiana, Indiana Game & Fish, and In-Fisherman. He attended DePauw University where he majored in English and earned his MFA in creative writing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Upon completion of his MFA he returned to DePauw where he is now an Associate Professor and teaches creative writing. The 7 pm reading will be followed by a reception and book signing. Books will be available on-site for purchase. Please join us for a conversation with the author, Greg Schwipps
