LIBRARIES CROSSING BOUNDARIES: Bibliotecas Cruzando Fronteras is the
theme for the 2011 Texas Library Association Annual Conference, and we hope to see
all of you there! The goal for this year’s event is to unite and engage librarians from
all types of libraries and all areas of librarianship in communicating the value of libraries
through the strength of our stories.

We are so pleased to once again have the opportunity to meet in Austin – a center for
technology and civic engagement. The TLA conference will host around 8,000 of your friends
and colleagues between April 12 and 15, 2011. The conference affords countless opportunities
for networking and learning. With more than 200 sessions and events, the 2011 conference
offers attendees a national-caliber conference inside of Texas. And, of course, you will enjoy
access to the world’s third-largest library tradeshow.

This conference has been designed to offer high quality, diverse, and national-level
professional development and intellectual opportunities for attendees; position libraries
as powerful portals to new opportunities for clients; equip librarians and library workers
with tools to transform information into usable knowledge; and provide opportunities for
extending active participation through unit collaboration and interactive sessions.
